A burst water pipe has led to traffic jams in the area surrounding Southern Way near Staple Tye mini roundabout in Harlow.
Essex Highways are currently working on the problem. But the situation has now led to closure of southern Way from Abercrombie Way to Parringdon Road (Lower Meadow end).
Busy side roads including Paringdon Road are also affected and drivers have been asked to factor delays to their journeys and allow time to reach destinations.
The cycle track along Charters Cross has been cleared of water and is usable again. But authorities warn pedestrians to be careful of leaves and other debris.
