Gremlins have hit Epping Forest District Council's telephone and email services.

A pop-up message on the council's website says "Due to technical issues beyond our control, phone and email services to the council are temporarily disrupted. We are working hard to resolve the problem.

"We will publish updates on the website and on social media. We apologise for the inconvenience."

The problems began yesterday evening, with a message posted on social media.

It read: "Due to technical issues beyond our control, phone and email services to the council are still disrupted.

"We are working hard to resolve the problem.

"We apologise for the inconvenience."
