Details for key local elections coming up in Epping Forest have been announced.

There are 20 seats at Epping Forest District Council up for grabs on May 5.

One district councillor will be elected in each of the following wards:

Buckhurst Hill East; Buckhurst Hill West; Chigwell Village; Chipping Ongar, Greensted and Marden Ash; Epping Hemnall; Epping Lindsey and Thornwood Common; Grange Hill; Loughton Alderton; Loughton Broadway; Loughton Fairmead; Loughton Forest; Loughton Roding; Loughton St Johns; Loughton St Marys; Lower Nazeing; North Weald Bassett; Theydon Bois; Waltham Abbey Honey Lane; Waltham Abbey North East; Waltham Abbey Paternoster

Candidates have until 4pm on April 5 to hand nomination papers to the council.

Applications to register to vote must reach the council's electoral registration officer by midnight on April 14. Applications can be made at https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

Election polls at polling stations will open at 7am on Thursday May 5, 2022 and close at 10pm the same day.
