The next meeting of a group set up to help people with memory issues and those who love and care for them will take place on Friday.

3MemoryCafe4U will be meeting at Waltham Abbey Baptist Church EN9 1RL from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

Established by Epping Forest’s largest emergency food agency 3Food4U, the sessions are activity-based with singing, word games, puzzles, bingo and more, and free light refreshments.

3MemoryCafe4U’s next session in Ongar will be held at St James Church Hall CM5 9EL on Wednesday, June 15 from 10am to 12pm and the third Wednesday of each month thereafter.

No book is required to attend the 3MemoryCafe4U sessions and further information is available by calling 01992 842642.

Outgoing Loughton town mayor Cllr Rose Brookes paid a farewell visit to the charity’s hub in the town last week.

She thanked all the volunteers for their work supporting the community in these challenging times.

Loughton Town Council has been great supporters of 3Food4U, providing vital grant funding to enable the charity to deliver its service locally.

3Food4U’s hubs will be open as normal over the Jubilee bank holiday period and continues to be grateful to the volunteers who give up their time.

The charity’s hubs are open as follows:

  • Monday: Waltham Abbey – 13, Sun Street - 11.30am to 1pm
  • Tuesday: Loughton – Loughton Club, 8, Station Road - 11.30am to 1pm
  • Wednesday: Chigwell Row – All Saints Church Hall, Romford Road - 5pm to 6.30pm
  • Thursday: Ongar – Zinc Arts Centre, High Street - 1pm to 2.30pm
  • Friday: Waltham Abbey – 13, Sun Street - 11.30am to 1pm
