A Borehamwood councillor is due to go on trial next week charged with threatening and/or abusive behaviour at a council’s offices.

Michelle Vince, who is a Labour borough, county, and town councillor, is due to appear at Peterborough Court House on Monday (July 4).

Vince is facing two charges following an alleged incident at the Hertsmere Borough Council offices in Borehamwood on November 10 last year.

The politician is accused of two counts of using threatening or abusive words contrary to the Public Order Act.

One of the counts specifically relates to her alleged behaviour towards the managing director of the council, Sajida Bijle.

At Cambridge Magistrates Court on April 28, Vince pleaded not guilty to both charges.

At that hearing on April 28, a public order charge against Vince involving Conservative Bushey borough councillor Pervez Choudhury was withdrawn.

Vince was released on bail.
