A teenager has been charged after a gun was let off in a residential street in Loughton.

Essex Police were called to reports of a gun being fired in Harvey Gardens at around 2.35pm on Saturday June 18.

No one was injured and an investigation was immediately launched.

During enquiries, police discovered a Ford S-Max in New Farm Drive, Abridge, which they believe was involved.

Police said a 17-year-old from Buckhurst Hill, who cannot be named for legal reason, has been charged with conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.

He appeared at Southend Youth Court on July 5 where he did not enter a plea. The boy was remanded in custody to appear at Basildon Crown Court on August 2.

Two other people who have arrested in connection with the incident have been released on bail until next month.

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage of the incident in Harvey Gardens, Loughton, or in New Farm Drive, Abridge, where the vehicle was found, is asked to contact police.
