The founder of Epping Forest’s largest emergency food agency has dedicated an award he received to the “tireless” volunteers who enable it to deliver its service.

The High Sheriff of Essex Nick Alston visited 3Food4U and spent time getting to know the charity’s volunteers and service users.

He then presented chair of trustees Pesh Kapasiawala and volunteers with a High Sheriff of Essex Award.

Pesh said: “This award is for all the tireless volunteers who work around the clock to deliver our vital service seven days a week. It’s great recognition from the highest order in Essex. Well done everyone.”

The High Sheriff said: “I was pleased to visit 3Food4U in Waltham Abbey. Two of the volunteers (both Linda!) told me about their work and I presented a High Sheriff's certificate to founder Pesh Kapasiawala.”

The next 3MemoryCafe4U will be held from 2.3pm to 4.30pm on Friday at Waltham Abbey Baptist Church Hall EN9 1RL, and then on the last Friday of the month.

The sessions are open to anyone who would like to socialise, but particularly for people with varying degrees of memory issues and those who love and care for them.
