A woman from Epping whose son and brother-in-law have benefited from the services of two charities is holding a Masquerade Ball to raise money for both organisations.

The ball will be held on August 11, 2023 at Woolston Manor and Golf course, Abridge Road, Chigwell with proceeds going to Great Ormond Street Hospital and Voluntary Action Epping Forest. Guests have been told that it is mandatory to be elegant and masked.

Angela Jones said “My mother-in-law and I so wanted to organise this event. Both charities are dear to our hearts. Everyone has a story to tell about how wonderful Great Ormond Street Hospital is. It has personally helped my family when saving my stepbrother’s life when he was a baby and also my brother-in-law’s. I also can’t praise Ace Activities (VAEF project) enough for all the help they have given to my brother-in-law who attends their weekly Ace Upcycling sessions.

Epping Forest Guardian:

“We felt it so important to support both charities - one which supports people all over the country and the other, Voluntary Action Epping Forest, which supports many people throughout the Epping Forest District with a huge range of services. The difference both charities make to individuals and families is outstanding. This event is one not to be missed, it promises to be a great event whilst also making a difference. All support is greatly appreciated!”.

The event, costing £60 per person, includes Prosecco on arrival, a two-course meal, live entertainment including DJ Kanga, DJ’s from Stomp Radio and also features Sean Connolly from The Voice UK.
