- The A1M was shut northbound within junction 6 (Welwyn) from around 11.45am.
- It reopened by around 12.30pm. There was normal traffic by 1pm.
- It came as the M25 was already closed in Hertfordshire after a separate crash.
- Traffic officers and emergency services were called to the scene.
- There was heavy traffic congestion on the approach to the closure.
