A Shadow Minister has praised a sustainability charity.

Dr Neil Hudson, MP for Epping Forest, visited an ECCO reuse shop in Epping to see how the organisation is reducing waste and supporting vulnerable residents.

ECCO runs shops in Harlow, Epping, and Bishop’s Stortford, selling donated furniture, clothing, and household goods to raise funds for environmental projects.

Dr Hudson said: "ECCO is a shining example of how local charities can deliver real environmental and social impact. Their commitment to reuse, recycling and environmental education shows how communities can work together to reduce waste, cut emissions and support people who need affordable essentials.

"Protecting our precious Epping Forest is vital, and organisations like ECCO demonstrate just how much can be achieved through responsible environmental stewardship."

Dr Hudson met with staff and volunteers to learn more about the charity’s conservation efforts and its role in the community. He has long championed environmental causes in Epping Forest, regularly taking part in community litter picks.

As Shadow Environment Minister, Dr Hudson has also called for tougher action on fly-tipping, highlighting its impact on biodiversity and the damage it causes to residents and landowners.
