Heathcote School & Science College is celebrating another year of improving A Level results, with the Class of 2026 achieving stronger outcomes across key measures, demonstrating why Heathcote Sixth Form is an increasingly strong choice after GCSEs.

There was a real sense of pride and excitement as Year 13 pupils received their results and celebrated university places, apprenticeships and exciting destinations.

The school was delighted to be joined by local councillors, Councillor Wing and Councillor Adams, who shared in the celebrations with our top-performing pupils.

The results show continued improvement, with 57% of entries achieving A*-B, 82% A*-C and 100% A*-E. The average point score has also risen.

The Sixth Form has achieved an outstanding ALPS placing Heathcote in the top 10% nationally for pupil progress and demonstrating the impact of high-quality teaching, support and high expectations.

There were some exceptional individual achievements. Damilola achieved three A grades and will study Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London, while Kayla achieved four A Levels, including two A* and two A grades, and will study Molecular Biology at Imperial College London.

Gabriel and Daniel both achieved two A grades and an A.* Gabriel will study Mathematics and Statistics at Queen Mary University of London, while Daniel will study Psychology at York University. Daniel’s family said that moving to Heathcote in Year 12 was the best decision he ever made, adding that he has achieved far beyond their expectations and thoroughly enjoyed his time at Heathcote.

Ellie achieved D*D D*D and will study Biomedical Science in Hertfordshire.

Other pupils are progressing to exciting destinations, including Anthony to King’s College London for Natural Sciences, Amir to an apprenticeship with Aeon, and Ishrat to an apprenticeship with the BBC.

Damilola said he was ‘very grateful for all the support I have had’ and ‘can’t believe my time has come to an end’, although he was quick to reassure staff that he would be back.

Headteacher Sonia Close said: ‘I am incredibly proud of our Year 13 pupils. These results reflect two years of hard work, resilience and determination.

‘Having my own son receive his results from Heathcote today has given me an even greater appreciation of what today means for our families the pride, excitement as our young people take their next steps.

‘I want to thank our staff, parents and carers for their support and high expectations and wish the Class of 2026 every success for the future.’
