Author Jacqueline Wilson will be beinging much-loved characters like Tracy Beaker to life in concert with the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

Jacqueline Wilson's Wonderful World will take place at the Barbican for a special family concert on Saturday October 23.

The concert will carry audiences into the worlds of some of her favourite characters, from the fearless Tracy Beaker to the determined Hetty Feather and many more, with the help of some of the actors who brought the characters to life on screen for CBBC’s popular TV programmes.

Dani Harmer (Tracy Beaker), Emma Maggie Davies (Jess Beaker), Isabel Clifton (Hetty Feather), and Chloe Lea (Katy Carr) will star on stage as special guests throughout the concert, reading extracts from Wilson’s books.

This multimedia adventure will expand the imagination with music by composers past and present performed by the BBC SO, including the theme from CBBC’s beloved The Story Of Tracy Beaker.

Jacqueline Wilson said: “I’m really excited about the Barbican concert. I’ll be reading from my favourite books (of course I’ll be including Tracy Beaker and Hetty Feather).

"There’ll be specially chosen complimentary music and amazing surprise guests. See you there!”

CBBC will bring the concert to audiences watching at home on BBC iPlayer in December, presented by Mwaksy from CBBC’s Blue Peter.

This event will also be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 4.
