Leyton Orient’s Ruel Sotiriou will spend the next month with Chelmsford City, having joined the National League South side on loan.

The move to Chelmsford will be the 18-year-old’s second loan spell away from Brisbane Road this season, after the youngster recently spent time with Bostik Premier League side Bishop’s Stortford.

He scored once in four appearances during his time with the Blues, racking up a further four assists.

Sotiriou is highly rated by the O’s and penned his first professional contract with the club in the summer, having made a handful of substitute appearances for the first team last season.

The 18-year-old made his Orient debut against Dagenham and Redbridge in the FA Cup in October 2017 and also spent time on loan with Heybridge Swifts as well as Leatherhead last season.

But the forward will now further his education with Chelmsford, whose squad includes former Orient defender Elliot Omozusi, who made 149 appearances across two spells with the East London side earlier in his career.

The Clarets are managed by Rod Stringer and currently sit in 11th place in the National League South, just two points below the Play-Offs.

Soitiriou could make his Chelmsford debut later today, with the Clarets set to take on Sammy Moore’s Concord Rangers this evening.
