Michael Oliver only took charge of a Watford game a month ago but he will be in the middle again tonight when the Hornets aim to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup at Queens Park Rangers.

The leading referee officiated Watford's goalless Premier League draw at home to Burnley last month in what was his first Hornets game since the 2-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur last season.

The Northumberland-born official has taken charge of a total of 30 domestic, European and international matches so far this campaign and reached a century of yellow cards last weekend during Spurs’ 3-1 victory over Leicester City. He has also shown a total of six red cards this season.

Tonight’s tie at Loftus Road will be played to a conclusion, with extra-time and penalties if required, after it was decided in December to scrap fifth round replays a season earlier than planned.
