Ruel Sotiriou has been called up to the Cyprus under-21 squad just days after scoring the winning goal for Dover Athletic against League One side Southend United in the FA Cup.

Sotiriou, who joined Andy Hessenthaler’s side from Leyton Orient last week, scored with less than 10 minutes left to dump Sol Campbell’s side out of the competition and will link up with the Cyprus side in Larnaca ahead of their match against Norway this week.

The O’s loanee has received numerous call-ups this season and was on target in their 5-1 defeat against the Netherlands back in September.

As a result, Sotiriou will miss the National League match against Yeovil Town this Saturday.
