The Football Association will not be investigating the alleged comments made by Forest Green Rovers manager Mark Cooper to Ross Embleton during the match against Leyton Orient on Saturday.
Embleton said in his post-match interview that he was called an "imposter" by Cooper before following it up with "who do you think you are? Justin Edinburgh?".
The O's interim head coach was shown a red card by referee Chris Sarginson for reacting to what was said about the late former Orient boss by throwing his chewing gum towards Cooper, who was handed a yellow card.
In a statement posted on Forest Green's website, Cooper said: "I'm pleased the FA have given such a swift and clear statement on this matter.
"I can assure everybody that nothing like that was said - it's wrong that Justin's name was dragged into this. We're now focussed on a really important game against Crewe Alexandra."
