Lawrence Vigouroux marked his Leyton Orient debut with a clean sheet as the O’s ran out 3-0 winners at Stevenage on Saturday.

Vigouroux was the first signing that Orient brought in during the January transfer window but sat on the bench for the games against Port Vale, Northampton Town, Newport County and Crewe Alexandra.

His inclusion in the team, though, brought about Orient’s first clean sheet since the goalless draw with Bradford City on December 14, and just their sixth of the season.

Speaking about the clean sheet after the game, O’s head coach Ross Embleton said: “That was the big thing that me and Deano [Dean Brill] were shouting for the last 15 minutes: clean sheet, clean sheet, clean sheet.

“There hasn’t been enough of them this year, there hasn’t been enough of that base to give ourselves the opportunity to go and win games of football.

“When you go three goals up like that, it’s not about trying to get the fourth, fifth and sixth, it was about trying to see through a clean sheet.

“I’m delighted for Lawrence but I’m delighted for everybody that we go and get that clean sheet.”
