Ross Embleton has dismissed reports that Leyton Orient are interested in signing out-of-contract defender Tommie Hoban.

The former Watford centre-back is without a club having last played for Scottish Premiership outfit Aberdeen.

The 26-year-old, who was born in Walthamstow, has seen his promising career hampered with injuries.

It had been claimed that Orient were one of the interested parties in the Republic of Ireland under-21 international, along with Aberdeen, who were supposedly looking to re-sign him.

Embleton, though, feels it’s not a position that needs strengthening at the club.

He said: “Right now we’re not looking at anybody in. We’re a little bit vulnerable in the centre-half area because Marv [Marvin Ekpiteta] is out injured, Jamie Turley is out injured, but at the moment I don’t feel it’s a position we need to address.

“I’m hoping that we’ll see Marv and Jamie back in contention before the end of the season so to bring another player in like that, for me right now, isn’t something that we need to do.

“What we have done is we’ve started with our processes and our search for what we feel is going to develop us and make us better next season, but right now we’re not looking at any players like that.”
