Harlow Town announced six new signings before a 3-0 home defeat against Hanwell Town on Tuesday evening.

Ogo Obi’s hat-trick saw the Hawks well beaten but with four of the hosts’ new signings in the starting lineup, it may take some time for the new additions to gel with their new teammates.

One of those to start was striker Courtney Austin, who joined Harlow from FC Romania in a bid to strengthen the forward line.

Austin has also featured in recent years for fellow Isthmian South Central sides Chalfont St. Peter and the Hawks’ opponents on Tuesday night, Hanwell, as well as scoring 13 goals in as many games for New Salamis in the curtailed 2019-20 season.

Two players who featured from the beginning in the 3-0 defeat were a pair signed on loan from Leyton Orient.

Anthony Papadopoulos and Tristan Francois-Vernal have both joined the Hawks on an initial one month, work experience loan.

Papadopoulos plays in midfield, while Francois-Vernal is more at home in defence.

Both players made their first appearances for the Hawks last weekend against Hertford Town.

Jeremie Sivi also played from the beginning against Hanwell, although he has also featured for Town in their previous two games. Sivi initially joined the club on loan from Leyton Orient in December 2019, and after departing Orient in the summer he has once again signed for the Hawks for this campaign.

Another new face who came off the bench against Hertford Town is Jake Nickless, who also found himself against the substitutes on Tuesday evening.

is an attacking midfielder who joined from Billericay Town, where he started the 2020-21 campaign. He has also played for North Greenford United in the South Midlands League.

The Hawks have also signed Albert Perry from Witham Town. ‪

Perry is an attacking player who can play in a number of positions and will add strength to the Harlow Town midfield.

He started the season at Basildon United, where he also played during the 2019-20 campaign.

Harlow formally announced the signings on Tuesday, stating: “We would like to welcome all the players to the Club, and they will all be available for selection tonight as we welcome Hanwell Town.”
